Please keep me safe...
I hope no friends of mine treat
their pets like this. If yes, please rethink your actions. You want them to be
your guard dog, but you do not play your share of guardian. You may not
intentionally mean harm to them, but just stop and think of a better way of
treating them. Throwing them some food, some water, chained up with mini
shelter from heavy rain and hot sun, left lonely do not deserve a wagging tail
or a bark to alert you of danger but they still do their duty. They may
actually hurt more than a stray. What did they do to deserve a unsheltered
prison cell with chains? Why don't you do your duty as a pet owner too? There
are worse owners, but why compare with those who are worse than you, why not
compare to those who are better than you and do a something a little better
than now? I promise that your heart will learn to smile from within. I hope the
dog will be a happier dog soon, whether from the same owner who now have a
better mind or from someone else who knows how to care for others. My heart is
aching not because of the condition of the dog, but for the selfishness and
thoughtless human breed. Animals hurt others for survival. Human hurt others
just because... I am duly disappointed.
This dog does not seem to have
broken bones, exposed tumours, burnt marks, chopped tail but it disturbs me so
much. I have seen so many agonising photos by MIAR (Malaysia Independent Animal
Rescue) but nothing hit me as much as this. A simple shot, yet I kept going
back to this photo.
Love but no love.
Hurt but no hurt.
Lonely but not lonely.
Lost but not lost.
I don’t know if you can picture
yourself feeling so, but I can and I totally don’t like the feeling and do not
wish it happens to me. I rather not be loved, be hurt, be lonely, be lost than keep
losing faith of my feeling because at least I can learn to deal with the issues
and move forward, not kept dangling from an almost broken rope.
Whatever it is, I salute the commitment by the MIAR team, and the volunteers and supporters!
