Final Weeks leading up to labour
38 + 2 today, but only 3 more sleeps before our little
miracle will be in our arms. I will be induced on Wednesday night provided she
doesn’t decide to come before that although I am hoping that she would arrive healthy and bubbly on the 1st of June 2016 (1/6/16 seems like a good date).
We have been trying to shortlist even further our shortlist
of names. But it’s not easy, I keep changing my mind every 5 minutes but I
guess when she is here we will (have to) know.
3rd trimester hasn’t been fun for me. Sleep
has been worse than ever. I can never get comfortable, and if I lay in bed for
too long, the sensation in my legs get really horrible. At least since
maternity leave I have the luxury to take some afternoon naps on some days. Good
thing is I haven’t been feeling so much pressure under my boops / upper abdomen, ribs
area anymore. That had caused struggle with breathing and eating in the past. Now that she has
dropped, and engaged (2/5 of her head is within my pelvic) the pressure has
shifted, not as torturing but still not so fun. I feel tired so easily, have to
waddle, sit with legs wide open (although I still try to be a little more lady
like when in public), feeling numb down there instead of up in ribs and
struggling to sit comfortably. But besides that all is good.
Bubba (as my obs JS refer to) is all good. Measuring almost
2.8kg just after 36 weeks, and think she would be about 3.5kg at due date, so
if all average measurements works out accurate, she could be slightly above 3kg
end of this week. Fluid is good. Blood flow in-out of placenta seems good. My
sugar level seems to have stabilised (lower than what a gestational diabetes
person) but that is not always a good thing because it may be a sign that the
function of the placenta is changing - therefore for the decision to induce
earlier than 40 weeks. Feeling nervous and excited at the same time – perhaps more
nervous than excited.
Some photos to remember what a glowing pregnant lady
actually look like :) (Week 37)
And bump progression in this trimester – Week 31, Week 34+ (on my
birthday!), Week 35+, Week 38
